Pitane (BC 400-350) Hemiobol

4th century BC. AR Hemiobol(?) (7mm, 0.43g). Head of Zeus-Ammon right / ΠΙΤΑΝA, pentagram within shallow incuse square. VF, a little porous. Extremely rare, perhaps the second known.

Head cites a specimen in the BM, but that piece remains unpublished - it does not appear in the BMC volume on Mysia (1892), and was not in any of the published acquisitions before Head wrote Historia Nummorum in 1911.
