Neokaisareia (AD 198-217) AE 30

Caracalla, 198-217 AD. AE30 (4.10g), struck 209/210 AD. AVT M AVPH - ANTÎ©NINOC, draped, cuirassed and laureate bust right, seen from behind / KOIN Î ON - NEO - KAI - MHTPO, tetrastyle temple, columns with distinct ektasis, feet of columns with two embossments (torus), just as the capitals, pediment with shield (or Sol?) in the tympanon, decorated akrosteria [and quadriga on top of the roof]; in the outer intercolumnaria backwall visible with bricks, in the middle intercolumnarium statue of Zeus, nude, raised right hand, standing facing on narrow cippus; RM Digamma (= year 146) in exergue. Rare. About VF/VF, brown patina. Probably unpublished. Hoeft coll.

Sometimes the figure on the cippus is called Ma, which was worshipped in Komana Pontica, where she was brought from Komana in Cappadocia. Sulla brought her to Rome where she was identified with Bellona. But a female deity is never depicted nude and therefore it can't be Ma!
