Commodus, 177-192 AD. AE41 - Medallion (42.73g, 6h). L(ucius) Castrichinus, strategus for the second time. Struck circa 188 AD. AV KAI ΛV AIΛ AVP KOMMOΔOC, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / CTPA Λ KA[C] TPICX ЄINOV, ЄΛAITΩN/[T]O B in two lines in exergue, Athena, holding serpent-entwined olive tree, seated right, and Zeus, holding patera and scepter, enthroned left, vis-à-vis. EF, wonderful green patina with earthen overtones, slight shift strike on reverse.
