Septimius Severus, 193-211 AD. AE39 (23.74g, 12h). Laureate and cuirassed bust right / Tyche of Tarsus seated left on rocky outcropping, holding grain ears, with half-length figure of the river god Cydnus swimming left at her feet, surrounded by Tyches of Cilicia, Isauria, and Lycaonia, each holding grain ears and presenting wreath. VF, brown patina, insignificant doubling on obverse, minor metal flaws on reverse. From Group CEM.

Rare medallic bronze, honoring Tarsus as the chief city (Metropolis) of the three districts of Cilicia: Cilicia proper, Isauria, and Lycaonia.
