Severus Alexander, 222-235 AD. AE39 - Medallion (34.67g, 6h), Po. Ail. Tryphon Hippikos, asiarchos. ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥΡ СЄ ΑΛЄΞΑΝΔΡΟС, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / ЄΠΙ ΠΟ ΑΙΛ ΤΡΥΦ/ΩΝΟϹ - ΑСΙΑΡΧΟΥ ΙΠΠΙΚΟΥ / ΑΠΑMЄΩΝ, the hero Kelainos standing facing, head to left, holding short spear with his left hand and pouring libation from patera on to rock at his feet with his right. Extremely rare. The obverse slightly rough and somewhat smoothed, gVF.
