Maionia (AD 138-161) - Faustina Senior377 viewsFaustina Senior, wife of Antoninus Pius. 138-161 AD. AE22 (5.22g). ΦAVCTEINA CEBACTH; Draped bust right / [EΠI MOVKIANOV] MAIONΩN; Demeter (?) standing left, holding long scepter and grain ears.

There is also a coin of Faustina II from Maeonia (SNG Righetti 1040) with a different portrait style and hair-style. Because the portrait on this coin resembles the portrait of Faustina Senior as encountered on imperial coinage and because Münsterberg mentions a magistrate Moukianos in the time of Antoninus Pius, I am attributing this coin to the elder Faustina.
