Kilikia Uncertain (BC 4th cent) Pegasos - Obol698 viewsca 375-333 BCE. AR Obol (0.55g, 9h). Diademed head of Zeus Karneios right, with ram's horn at forehead / Pegasos flying right; uncertain letter below. Good VF, dark toning. Both types completely unknown in the Samarian series.

This surprising Samarian obol combines a Zeus Karneios head that must have been influenced by the types of Kyrene and a Pegasos from the ubiquitous Corinthian staters. Neither seem to have much of a direct connection with Samaria.
