(BC 351-344) Hidrieios - Hemidrachm?626 viewsHidrieios, Satrap, 351-344 BC. AR Hemidrachm? (2.05g). Facing head of Apollo with flowing hair / 8-pointed star (4 thick rays and 4 thin with pellet in center), legend between.

This coin is not only strange as to weight, but the legend. There are only trihemiobols with this rev. design published, and the legend should be Ι−Δ−Ρ−Ι, but this looks like Δ−Ι−Τ. An unpublished denomination? An unknown satrap?

(BC 340-334) Pixodaros - Tetradrachm952 viewsPixodaros, Satrap, 340-334 BC. AR Tetradrachm (15.10g, 12h). Head of Apollo facing slightly right, wearing laurel wreath / ΠΙΞΟΔΑΡΟΥ, Zeus Labraundos standing right, holding labrys and lotus-tipped scepter; small E between feet and sceptre. EF, toned, some minor roughness on the reverse. Very rare. Cohen Coll.

The obverse die on this coin was also used to strike tetradrachms in the name of Hidrieus. The die sharing and the carry-over from Hiedreius' issues of the small E on the reverse suggest that Pixodaros' tetradrachms were struck early in his reign.

(BC 392-377) Hekatomnos - Diobol602 viewsHekatomnos, Satrap, 392-377 BC. AR Diobol (1.30g). Mylasa mint. Laureate head of bearded man right (Hekatomnos?) / Forepart of bull left, E before. VF. Extremely rare.

Obols and Diobols are well-known from the emission of small coins assigned convincingly to the Carian Satrap Hekatomnos. A. Winzer, Antike Portraitmünzen (2005), No. 13, argues that some portray the Satrap himself, while others Zeus Lepsynos.
