Levante notes that the hairstyle of the female suggests that it is Livia, the wife of Augustus, in whose honor the city was named.

Extremely rare, seemingly unpublished and only the second known coin of Plautilla from Augusta. Ex Krizan Coll.

The only other known coin of Plautilla from the mint of Augusta, Karbach 91, is struck from the same obverse die but depicts Artemis on the reverse.
