Smyrna (AD 130) AE 38 - Antinoos

Antinous, favorite of Hadrian, died 130 AD. AE38 - Medallion (46.40g, 12h). Polemon, magistrate. ANTINOOC HRΩC, bare head left / ΠΟΛΕΜΩΝ ΑΝΕΘ ΗΚΕ CΜΥPΝΑΙΟC, bull standing right. VF, red-brown patina, some smoothing, outlines of letters and portrait strengthened. Extremely rare, one of three known, two of which are in museums (Berlin and Gotha). From the David A.
