Miletos (BC 600-550) EL 1/6 Stater

ca 600-550 BC. EL Hekte â€“ 1/6 Stater (11mm, 2.41 g). Lion reclining left, head reverted, within rectangular frame / Two square punches without designs. Good VF. Very rare denomination.

The earliest example of this denomination; not only are the incuses devoid of any designs, the style of the obverse is more â€œarchaicâ€ in appearance.
