Phokaia (BC 600-522) B02 - EL 1/48 Stater

ca 625-575 BC. EL 1/48 Stater (0.33g, 4mm). Head of griffin left / Quadripartite incuse square. Good VF. Extremely rare, only two examples recorded by Bodenstedt, both in museums (Karlsruhe and Istanbul).

This issue is possibly from the earliest coinage at Teos; see: M. Matzke, JNG 50, p. 43, "Serie 0"
