Commodus, as Caesar, 166-177 AD. AE31 (14.22g, 1h). Struck 174/5-177 AD. AV K Λ AVPH KOMOΔOC, bareheaded and draped bust right / The Judgment of Paris: Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite standing right before Paris seated left below tree, wearing Phrygian cap and holding apple in right hand and pedum in left; syrinx (panpipes) in field above, IΛIЄΩN in exergue. Good VF, dark green patina, some smoothing and cleaning marks, light doubling on obverse. Interesting mythological scene. Szapary-Donadello Coll.
