Geta, 209-211 AD. AE44 - Medallion (52.42g, 6h). Menogenes, strategus. Struck 209-211 AD. • AVTOKPA • KAI • ΠOΠΛIOC CЄΠTI ΓЄTAC •, laureate and cuirassed bust right, slight drapery on shoulder; cuirass decorated with aegis / Geta right on horseback, preparing to hurl javelin at bound captive below horse’s raised front hooves; captive running right with head reverted; round shield below horse. Near EF, dark green patina patina with earthen overtones in devices, some smoothing. Very rare. From Group CEM. Ex Tkalec (2/2001), lot 320.
