Abydos (BC 175-70) Tetradrachm

ca 2nd-1st century BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.51g). Diademed bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver over shoulder, within dotted circle / Eagle standing right, helmeted head of Athena to right; ΑΒΥ-ΔΗ-ΝΩΝ above, ΜΙΛΗΘΙ (magistrate) in exergue, all within laurel wreath. This form of the magistrate's name not recorded in the standard works. Toned VF, light porosity, some smoothing on the reverse.
