Kyzikos (BC 460-400) EL Stater

ca 460-420 BC. EL Stater (16.01g). Silenus, with horse’s ear and tail, kneeling right, holding kantharos in his outstretched right hand into which he is pouring wine from amphora balanced on left leg and steadied by left arm and head / Quadripartite incuse square. Very rare and in exceptional state of preservation. Perfectly struck on full flan and of superb style. Reddish tone and extremely fine.
