Kyzikos (BC 550-500) EL Stater

ca 550-500 BC. EL Stater (15.85g). Head of Silenos facing; two tunnies upward to either side / Quadripartite incuse square. VF. Extremely rare, the third known.

The other two examples, noted by Hurter & Liewald, were in the Von Aulock Coll. (but unpublished) and the Velkov Coll. (Vinchon, (11/1994), lot 61 = CH II, p. 7, 2).
