Issos (BC 388-380) Stater - Tiribazos

386-380 BC, struck under the satrap Tiribazos. AR Stater (10.42g, 8h). Baal standing left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in left; 'BLTRZ' in Aramaic to right, [Ι]ΣΣΙΚΟΝ in Greek to left / Ahura Mazda facing, head turned to right, lower body replaced by a winged sun-disc, wearing crown and holding a wreath in right hand and a lotus in left. Very rare. Toned, VF. From the collection of H.S. von Aulock.
