Ancient Greek and Roman coins from Asia Minor

Coin ID #9729

Eirenopolis (AD 69-81) AE 17 - Domitian

Domitian, as Caesar, 69-81 AD. AE16 (2.77g, 1h). Dated CY 42 (93/4 AD). Laureate head of Domitian right / Laureate head of Asclepius right; star behind, BM (date) before. Good VF, green patina. Extremely rare.

RPC cited only one example (= CNG 79, lot 628) for this type in the 1999 publication, with one additional example published in the second supplement. The current variety, with the star on reverse, appears to be unique.
