ca 470-450 BC. AR Triple Siglos (Persic) (16.43g). ΚΩΙΟΝ, nude athlete (diskobolos) standing right on his right leg, left leg crossing behind it, upper part of body bent to right, head turned left, both arms raised over his head, throwing large diskos with his right hand; tripod on ground line to left / Crab in dotted incuse square. Very rare. Bold representation of an athlete cought in action. Toned, gVF/EF. Ex W. H. Waddington coll. and ex duplicates of the Cabinet des Medailles de la Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris.
