Geta, as Caesar, 198-209 AD. AE21 (7.72g). Cerinthus, magistrate. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Tyche standing left, holding rudder and two grain ears in right hand, cornucopia in left. VF, dark brown patina. This magistrate is known during the reign of Elagabalus, but not earlier. Wagner Coll.

The comment by the seller is incorrect. Kerinthos is known from numerous coins of the Severans, some documented a long time before this auction took place, e.g. Septimius Severus (ANS 1953.171.870); Julia Domna (Milne, Oxford); Caracalla (Geissen, Paris, Mionnet); Plautilla (Milne, Oxford); Geta (SNG Turkey 5, Boston MFA, Geissen, Leypold, Klose).
