Septimius Severus, 193-211 AD. AE35 (25.25g, 6h). T. Fl. Hierax, strategos. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right; countermark: facing cult statue of Artemis AnaÃ¯tis / Ð„Î [I CT]P Î¦-Î› Î›Ð„V IÐ„PAKOC, emperor on horseback right, about to spear bound captive; shield below, YÎ AIÎ H/NÎ©N in exergue. VF, green patina, smoothing in fields. Possibly unpublished, but see SNG von Aulock 2969 for the same type/magistrate on a coin of Caracalla.
