Quasi-autonomous, struck 2nd-3rd century AD under magistrate Anak., known from Lebedos. AE20 (4.31g). Bearded bust of Dionysos right; tripod before, entwined by dolphin / EΠI EΓ ANAK THIΩN, the poet Anakreon, wearing himation, standing right, holding with both hands lyra set on his knees. Very rare, VF, olive patina. Hoeft coll.

The rev. is also known from Volusian. Anakreon is one of the most famous lyric poets of ancient Greece besides Archilochos, Sappho and Alkaios.
