Samos (BC 600-570) EL Hekte

ca 600-570 BC. EL Hekte (2.85g). Eagle flying right, holding a serpent in its talons / Square incuse punch with irregular fan-shaped markings. Good VF. Ex Triton II (12/1998), lot 426.

This Samos electrum hekte has an unusually clear type present. The serpent clutched in the eagle's talons is typically not visible.
