Ephesos (AD 54-68) AE 22 - Nero & Poppaea

Nero, with Poppaea, 54-68 AD. AE22 (11.24g, 12h). Marcus Acilius Aviola, proconsul, and Aechmocles, magistrate. Struck 65 AD. Laureate head of Nero right, facing diademed and draped bust of Poppaea left / Turreted and draped bust of Roma right; bee below. Near VF, grayish-green patina under a layer of earthen deposits. Perhaps the second known for this variant.
