Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus, 161-169 AD. AE39 - Medallion (28.86g, 5h). Aelius Themistocles, Asiarch. M AVP KAI ANTWNINOC L AVP OVHPOC KAI, bust of Aurelius right vis-à-vis bust of Verus left, both laureate and cuirassed / EPI AIL QEMICTO KLEOV ACIAPXOV, MILHCWN in exergue, tetrastyle temple of Apollo Didymus, statue within, globe in pediment. Good VF, dark green patina, red-brown encrustation. Apparently unique. Drewry Coll.; ex Freeman & Sear 6 (6/2000), lot 521.
