|
| Why? |
We want to encourage people to register as Section Editors and upload pictures and descriptions of coins for our online Gallery. We have over 2,000 images in our database and want to continue building this resource.
|
| How to enter? |
You must register as a Section Editor, and start uploading photos and descriptions of coins for our Photo Gallery.
For instructions and specific information you need to provide, see our Submit page. For instructions on the upload process, see our Upload Guide.
|
| What are the rules? |
All uploads will be considered, but some may not qualify. We will select submitted images for our Photo Gallery based on the following criteria:
1. Interesting coin types that we have not already uploaded. You should first look at our Photo Gallery and see if you can submit a coin that adds something to the online index.
2. High quality photos and coins. Please do not send us bad photos or badly worn coins. All coins should be in VF or better condition (we will consider bronze in F+ if the coin is something special).
3. Detailed information about the coin (size, weight, accurate description and references, etc.). See our Submit page for more info.
4. More scarce and rare types. So, if you have a common coin that has not (yet) made it to our Gallery, but there are better examples online (such as on wildwinds or coinarchvies), we will not accept it. |
Any disputes will be resolved by a majority vote of the moderator and the two sponsors. Hopefully, there won't be any - this is all for fun!
|
| How do I win? |
Upload 50 coin photos/descriptions (which are accepted for our Gallery based on the above criteria), and we will send you a free ancient coin! (the prize is available for every 50 uploads thereafter).
|
| What's the prize? |
A genuine ancient Greek or Roman coin. You pick which, but the actual coin will be a surprise (it's more fun this way). We will announce all winners on our Yahoo group board.
Please note - both Barbara and Tom indicated that they will give a nice coin to each winner. Obviously, it will not be too expensive, but it will also not be junk (probably in the $25-$50 range). Both dealers have a great reputation for quality, and you can check out their normal selection by following the links above. In any event, the winners should not be disappointed!
